Continuing an outstanding collaboration
between two of the nation's top organizations working to make workplaces
inclusive, the Job Accommodation Network (JAN) and the US Business Leadership
Network (USBLN) will once again partner for the USBLN's 14th Annual Conference
and Expo.
JAN and the USBLN successfully join
forces to provide training to USBLN conference participants. This partnership
results in senior JAN Consultants and invited national experts presenting
training designed to effectively increase participants' practical knowledge
and skills regarding reasonable accommodation solutions and the Americans
with Disabilities Act (ADA) and its Amendments.
The Job Accommodation Network (JAN)
is a national service provided by the U.S. Department of Labor's Office of
Disability Employment Policy (ODEP). JAN's mission is to facilitate the
employment and retention of workers with disabilities by providing employers,
employment providers, people with disabilities, and other interested parties,
with technical assistance on job accommodations, the ADA and its Amendments,
entrepreneurship for people with disabilities, and related subjects. JAN
has been the premier resource for worksite accommodation and disability related
legislation information since 1983.
The JAN service is easy and accessible
to everyone and is available free of charge via telephone, email, and postal
mail. Customers may contact JAN at any stage of the employment process, such
as when an applicant who is deaf is requesting accommodations for an interview,
or when an employer needs accommodation ideas for a long-term employee with
age-related arthritis. JAN's services are available from resume to retirement.
